skazka: (young hannibal chilling by a tree)
I'm feeling marvelously unproductive except for Porn Battle pregaming, so here's a masterpost of all the prompts I've posted, which I am putting up over here to spare the poor souls using the Tumblr phone app. Heads-up that some of these head into dark territory, or have the possibility of consent issues built-in, and a pretty good handful are canon incest pairings (or incest pairings where canon incest is a feature). I am somewhat surprised by this, actually, wow.

Fandoms: Shakespeare, TDKR, Demon Knights, Doctor Faustus, Duchess Of Malfi, Inglourious Basterds, Edwin Drood, Ripper Street, Skyfall, Stoker, Truth Or Die, The White Queen, crossoves (Sherlock/Luther, any two David Dawson-containing canons) )

School's out! I'm hard at work (which is devouring most of my time), listening to a lot of music and generally doing really well. I signed up for [community profile] hc_bingo, which will hopefully kick my writing butt in gear (prompts and challenges tend to get my juices flowing).

Right now I'm reading:
- a bio of Lucrezia Borgia, which for the life of me I cannot recall the author of at this time. Which is just as well, because I can't find it to finish it, bother. But I'm loving the historical Lucrezia, and it's inspiring me to write... well, not a sequel but kind of a prequel to Recommend Thyself To God that's just about Persinette. Golden hair and overprotective caretakers and all that.

- "A Bloodsmoor Romance" by Joyce Carroll Oates. To be totally honest I had no idea what to expect from this book when I picked it up for a quarter at the library. The historical style it's written in is... accurately replicated, that is, dense and wordy as all get out, but as it is I'm liking it a great deal.

-the Diary of Vaslav Nijinsky, translated by Kyril FitzLyon. It's also tough to get through, but in a different way -- it is dense, confused, and extremely moving, but it illustrates its author's mental state so rawly and vividly that it's extremely painful as well.

For the sake of the folks at [ profile] hh_sugarquill, posting this here:

Title: Neurotic Virtuosi
Summary: ... I wanted a prompt to write and I was joking on tumblr about writing Hannibal Lecter/Tom Riddle if no one stopped me. NO ONE DID. Crossover with movieverse Hannibal Rising. Takes place during Hannibal's trek to his uncle's, freshly post-orphanage, and Riddle's meandering-as-hell trip to get Rowena's diadem. Tom tries his hand at picking up a boy. No one will miss him.
Characters/Pairings: One-sided Tom Riddle/Hannibal.
Rating/Warnings: R. References to Nazism and (fantasized) torture; sadistic impulses, Tom Riddle being a smug bastard and calling Hannibal a "boy" a lot. Also: this is likely so not compliant with Hannibal Rising's novel canon, mostly because I don't have that to hand and I don't care to acknowledge its existence.
Word Count: 688 words. Possibly a first chapter.

it was a real laugh at the time )

Ganked from [ profile] pargoletta, who is swell and a new addition to my flist:

Pick a paragraph (or any passage between... let's say 200 and 600 words) from anything I've written, and comment to this post with that selection. I will then give you a DVD commentary on that snippet: what I was thinking when I wrote it, why I wrote it in the first place, what's going on in the character's heads, why I chose certain words, what this moment means in the context of the rest of the fic, lots of awful puns, and anything else that you'd expect to find on a DVD commentary track.

Resources-wise, here's my AO3 fic archive.
